Will I lose the warranty?

Hello !

I would like to know if I will loose my warranty when I change the ssd on this macbook Pro.

I can see we have to remove the seal in order to take the battery connector off the motherboard... But is this step really necessary ?

Thanks a lot for your answer and for the amazing job you're doing.

First, right now Apple is the only supplier of the custom SSD unit used in your system.

Right now I don't know of any 3rd party options so opening your system is moot.

I was thinking about changing my ssd for a Transcend JetDrive actually.

So you reviewed their web site info Transcend. Did you note they don't offer a SSD unit for your model yet (Early 2013 being the newest model they offer a SSD option).

von

That's correct. I just checked out their website and they don't offer a SSD unit for any of the 2014 models yet. I'm purchasing a MacBook Pro 13" soon and it would have saved quite some money if the upgrade was available for the newer models. 256GB of storage is what its going to be for now. . .

Oh yes sorry, I forgot about this model thing. Thank you for your answers !

von

But as the 2013 and the 2014 MacBook Pro are very similar in the inside, maybe the JetDrive would work in a 2014 model too !
