screen dead need to transfer hard drive
I have an 11" macbook air, 4gb,128gb flash drive. The screen is dead and I want to get my stuff off the hard drive, any suggestions?

Your best bet here is to take the SSD out of the system and place it into a case which is designed for the SSD. OWC offers such a case: Envoy - Portable, Bus-Powered USB 3.0 Storage. Then you can connect it to another Mac system to copy off your stuff. Here's the IFIXIT guide on removing the SSD MacBook Air 11" Late 2010 Solid-State Drive Replacement
The other option here is to setup your MacBook Air in Target mode but without a working display they will be tough and you'll need a Ethernet adapter.
If you have access to an external display via a Mini DisplayPort and can get it working you could try copying off via a USB thumb drive.
The last two options are more costly if you don't have the needed hardware already.

Or if external video works you could boot the MBA and Target the MBP then transfer data.

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number so we can correctly identify which model version you have.

Have you tried using an external monitor? If the GPU its not totally thrashed it could work.

I haven't tried anything. I believe the hard drive is fine, just the monitor doesn't work so I can't see anything. I have a macbook pro can I transfer in to that somehow?

No, you can't swap out the HD or SSD (depending on your air model) as they use a different connections. Again please give us the systems S/N so we can help you here.

I don't want to swap HD just copy any files or photos off of it. The S/N is
