wont power up with battery installed
the battery was replaced & the problem is not resolved. It will start without a battery installed. My thought it's the motherboard.

Sometimes new batteries fail right out of the box (especially cheap Chinese knockoffs).
The new battery should be charged over night before using.
Either of the above is a reasonable explanation for what may be happening.

Help us help you. The more complete the description of your problem is (what OS you're using -there's a lot of those, some pertinent history of the behavior when it first began - what you think may have brought it on e.g. liquid spill, power surge, dropping the machine ) the more assistance we can provide, and, the sooner we can provide it.
