Best screw kit for Apple products

I'm a technician and I need to get professional tools to fix Apple products such as Iphone 5s/6/plus, Ipad 4/mini , Ipods and Mac Nook air/pro/pro retina . Tool set content desirable should have Aluminum Driver - featuring a magnetic socket, including all specific bits as all Pentalobe sizes , Flathead , Phillips , JIS , Torx , Torx Security , Hex , Square, Triangle , Tri-wing and Nut Driver.

Occasionally I will also fix PC and laptops from other brands.

Thanks a lot

Matt

G'day Matt. You are able to get driver sets for the devices that you listed on this website, in both driver bit or screwdriver configuration depending on what your preference is etc;

I personally have the 54 bit set and it works perfectly for me. The bits never cam out or brake. A tech I work with has the screwdriver set and he says its perfect, as it allows him to get in harder to reach places and apply more torque. As for PC's etc, you can buy things like Philips No. 2 screw drivers on both this site, or general tool shops.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Hey Zakk , Thank you so much for your supporting. But the question is: Pro tech Screwdriver Set could me capable to fix all apple devices above - mentioned ? Thanks bud !

Hey Matt. The Pro Tech set has 3 Pentalobe Screwdrivers P2, P5, P6 which covers iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Retina Display, MacBook Pro (2009) Battery. Tri-point Y1 for Apple laptop batteries, plus the common small Torx and Phillips sizes that are used in apple products.

If you buy this set, I would strongly recommend that you also buy a Phillips No. 2, Torx T10, T15 and T20 (preferably the security version), a 5mm Nut Driver and Tri-point Y0 Screwdriver as these are common and very useful drivers, not included in the set (as they are bigger, more normal sized screwdrivers). The Tri-point Y0 Screwdriver is best purchased here, but you can buy the Philips and torx screwdrivers at most hardware shops etc, if you don't wish to buy them from ifixit.

Hope this answers your question - Zakk.

Thank you so much buddy ! What about Pro Tech Toolkit ? Pro Tech Screwdriver Set still better than Pro Tech Toolkit ? What is the best to fix air notebooks from Dell, Asus and Sony ?

Thanks

Hey Matt, to be honest it depends on personal preference. I mostly work on broadcast equipment and occasionally computers for work/outside of work (Apple, HP, acer etc) among other things and I tend to use screwdrivers more. But I do have the Pro Tech Toolkit for stuff that I need security drivers/Torx for, on IT based equipment etc. This is a pretty common practice to have a security driver set and a screwdriver set. With screwdrivers you tend to be able to obtain the correct torque and can access hard to reach screws/recessed screws that bit drivers can't reach. In saying that, the Pro Tech Toolkit does have a T bar you can use to gain extra torque when needed, which i find good when cracking a tight screw. What the Toolkit has over the screwdrivers is that it includes;

JIS sizes 000, 00, 0, 1

Torx sizes T3, T4, TR15, TR20

Hex sizes 0.7, 0.9, 1.3, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 6 mm

Square sizes #0, #1, #2

Triangle size 3 mm

Tri-wing sizes #0, #1

Nut Driver sizes 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 5 mm

I think if you are just fixing laptops etc, the ToolKit is more then ok for it. It covers all of the drivers Apple uses, general IT equipment etc (though the screwdrivers do cover those drivers) and has extra specialty drivers. But you might find you prefer to use screwdrivers for certain jobs later on. I would recommend regardless that you do get yourself a good proper sized Phillips No. 1 and 2 screwdriver and Torx T10, T15, T20 (preferably the security version). These are very common in industry and can tend to need a bigger screw driver to crack. you can easily pick them up from a hardware shop.
