I can´t get any sound out of my imac, only through USB speakers.
The microphone doesn´t work either. I´ve tried all kinds of system preferences. I guess is sometihng on my sound card/board. Can it be replaced?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

the webcam is ok ?
i have already have this problem : the cable which connect to the logic board was a littel broken.
on my imac 17 intel core 2 duo, this cable is for the webcam, the micro + the speakers. (and IR i believe).
it's the cable we see under the Superdrive on this picture :

on my imac core 2 , this cable is an other place. (you can follow the IR cable to see the connection witj logic board.

I had this same problem recently and it turns out that it was caused by the Soundflower app. If you have installed Soundflower, uninstall, reboot and adjust your settings and that should do the trick. HTH :)
