Replace a 17" screen by a 20"
Hi, I Write you from France, so i geb your
pardon for my english. I hope you understand me.
I address mainly to the specialists in iMac USB 2.0 1.25 Ghz.
Here is my problem.
I have two iMacs 1.25 Ghz USB 2.0 broken down:
First is one 17” but the screen is broken,
and second is one 20” but the logicboard is broken.
Also with the sight of the technical specifications on the Apple site, they in common have a great majority of the elements , particulary the Motherboard, the video card.
Also I embarked in the disassembling of the machines and process to the replacement of screen 17” (broken) by his big brother 20”.
All was well to the connection of the connectors on the motherboard; all are OK except the connector coming from the invertor of the 20” who has two cables moreover, that is to say 18 pins, instead of 16 for the 17”.
Then here is my question:
Does there exist a shema of wiring for the various screens (I do not have kidney found at Apple nor elsewhere) in order to know has what correspond its 2 additional cables?
Can one imagine a possible do-it-yourselfing to be able to adapt it? if so, some information would be the welcomes, knowing that I know nothing in electronics there, because there, it is indeed electronics.
In advance I thank you for what you will be able to bring to me like assistance. I will like so much to make revive a so beautiful machine.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
