MacBook Pro restarts randomly. Heat sink?

MBP, whether running on battery or plugged into AC adapter, restarts 3 times after sitting overnight. Then randomly (could be minutes or hours) any time after that will restart. Possible heat sink issue?

I've been reading about Random Shutdown Syndrome but I'm not sure restarting opposed to shutting down is a symptom. I've also been reading about reapplying thermal paste and/or replacing the heat sink. I suppose I have to take a look at the thermal paste but it makes me nervous.
