Home button and area near it are oversensitive

After replacing the digitizer for my daughter's iPad2 (2nd time), the home button has now become oversensitive. Not only the home button, but the are around it. If you touch 2-3 inches on either side of the home button, the iPad will read a click or double-click of the button. I tried the calibration trick, and I tried taking it apart again and inspected the home button assembly. Everything seems normal.

Any ideas?

Did you happen to buy a new digitizer with a home button attached? I find that the aftermarket home buttons are sometimes too tall and will cause issues.

If you used the original home button, I would recommend pulling the digitizer back up and adding another layer of adhesive around the home button area. It sounds like it is down too tight and needs to be backed off a bit

That was it. After posting this, I found the original button and replaced the aftermarket one. Works great now. Thanks!
