on start up message says start up interupted, please hit any key to start start up but hitting a key results in the same message Also get a message in the upper right corner so small cant be read

First try starting up in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key on start up.

still wont start up in upper left hand corner a bunch of little letters saying something like panic (cpu)
It's called a kernel panic and be a software or hardware issue. Try starting up from your original system installation disk and running Disk Utilities.
