Had my screen replaced today and noticed when I placed a call the phone would go black. Can here it ringing but when taken away from my face it stays black... Guy who replaced my screen says the phone is reading something 3 inches away from screen no matter what... Any thoughts on what is going on/how to fix. This was working fine before screen replacement.

If no one can hear you then the microphone got damaged or blocked during the install (Sound travels through the small hole in the bottom of the glass) The proximity sensor malfunction could be that the screen is seated too far away from the sensor itself or it is an aftermarket part that doesn't have the right tint. We have seen lots of parts for various models that the proximity sensor will not work in but have never figured out what exactly in the part causes it. When we reinstall the original screens the proximity sensors work and then they don't with some of the aftermarket screens.

I will bring this up tomorrow when I bring it back. Both parts seem highly possible. Especially since it looks like they might have used too much glue towards the microphone. I will comment as soon as I know something.
