ANG COLE, that port is soldered to the logic board. so you will have to disassemble your Nuvi, remove the board and unsolder the old connector. If you can find it, you will have to purchase a new port and solder it to the board. This guide should at least get you to the board. Fixable? Absolutely.

My port came loose, but would provide intermittent charging. For example, I found if I held the cord just the right way with just the right pressure it was fine. But of course, that does not really make it useful enough to use.

I took the thing apart using the referenced instructions. Very easy, by the way. The only odd thing I noticed was that the T6 screws all seemed to be wanting a slightly smaller screwdriver, like a T5.5 or T5. But with enough pressure, I got the Craftsman T6 I had to work fine. Also when disconnecting that ribbon cable, the clue is that the connecting plastic pivots. The best way to flip it up is with a fingernail under it on each end. Just like T-con connectors in TVs.

Once you get down to the port, one side of it is attached to the board with pins through the board which are soldered. In my case, those were good and solid. But on the other side are about 6 surface mount solder joints, none of which were still attached. When I get back to my small soldering iron, I intend to re-solder those SMD connections - carefully, of course.
