I have an iMac Intel 17" with a cracked screen. I also have an iMac G5 17". Is it possible to use the LCD screen from the G5 for the Intel?

The answer is NO !
The intel iMac 17" LCD has a totally different pin-out and cable than the G5 ! If you plug in the G5 17" cable or display, the intel iMac will not power on.
The correct display for the intel iMac 17" is the LM171W02 (TL)(B1 or B2). The proper cable for the 17" intel iMac is the 593-0227.
I have tried switching the parts, and wound up chasing the pin-outs for each cable while looking for solutions online. Only the proper LCD panel and cable seems to be a working solution.
