LCD Screen goes black from time to time when moved, why?

Okay, so I honestly have a couple of problems with my laptop after having it for almost 4 yrs now. But my main concern now is my screen. Idk if it's because the hinges are loose and needs to be tightened (Which obviously the right side is), or if it's something else but, whenever i move my laptop a certain way, the screen goes black. Then i have to move it again for it to be working again normally. It seems as if something is loose but don't know what it could be. Any help?

So if it's the inverter cable, how do I fix it? Do I need to buy a new one? I figure It was probably just lose but if it's broken then I have to get a new one right? Are the instructions to fix this problem the same steps as the one mayer gave me? Just one to be in the safe side before I go and do anything. Thanks!

Sorry but the issue has nothing to do with the display/data cable (LVDS cable). The culprit is probably the inverter cable that bring power to the backlight lamp in the LCD panel.

If you can still see the desktop dimly from an angle when it goes black then Lemerise is correct. If you can't see it at all, then I'm probably right.

Hi,

from my experience it is rather the wiring on the left side, which connects to the inverter. One cable of it might be almost torn or torn already is therefore causing the backlight going on/off depending on the screen angle.
