Try removing the battery and dry out the phone plus battery under sunlight if possible.

I also try putting the phone in sunlight but the water from the LCD seem to have not been remove and i think that it is causing the flickering problem.

The phone seem to be overheating and i think that the overheating is to remove the water by heating up to a certain degrees.

QUESTION:

So how to remove any excessive water from the LCD or from the internal part of the phone??

Luckily, the fix is easy & following solution may fix a more annoying problem.

Go to settings >> More Tab >> About device.

Find "Build number" and click 6 times fast on it.

You will then get the message saying: "You are now a developer"

Come back to Home Screen, and then go back to Settings >> More Tab >> Now you will see the "Developer Options"

Now go to Developer options >> Drawing Section or Rendering Section >> Find "Turn off hardware overlays" or "disable hardware overlays" >> This will force the phone to always use GPU for screen compositing

I try what you ask but the problem is are you using a sony smartphone and does the same method apply to sony smartphone?? I think the problem is on how to remove any excessive water from the LCD as the phone seem to be overheating and i think that the overheating is to remove the water by heating up to a certain degrees.

I have a similar problem... My phone started flickering after I had updated my OS from 5.whatever to Marshmallow. I started to notice that with the flickering a couple of screens left "watermarks" on my screen like previous battery percentage would be watermarked and my time would be watermarked as well, including some other settings options. I then accidently dropped it on the floor and the flickering became so worse that every now and again the screen goes black and only the area with time appears.

I tried out the "disable h/w overlay" option but the flickering persists and it automatically deselects(sp) itself.

Just before posting this, I factory reset my phone in hopes of reverting from Marshmallow to 5.whatever but I still have Marshmallow and I still have the above mentioned problems...

How do I fix this problem? Is it a software problem or a hardware problem or both???
