When I turn on my phone the screen shows a narrow vertical line from the bottom and then spreads to the bottom third of the screen.
Is this a screen problem or a hardware fix?Any help would be appreciated.

What happened prior to this. Have you replaced the screen? Is this a new screen ? If so then you may find it's simply a faulty screen to start with

No the screen has not been replaced,it happened after a heavy shower of rain and it was in my pocket.Although it was damp it was not dripping in water.
will need opening up and cleaning John. too much of a coincidence and looks like you will need a new screen also. the longer you leave it without cleaning then the less chance of saving it
