Home Button cooper contacts damaged

I have a 3GS and my home button is not working properly, so i opened the phone and i saw the j3 connectors, the ones in the dock connector part were the problem. One of them was in a good shape, what i mean it was gold colored, the other one not so much so i grabbed my screw driver and try to remove this silver kinda thing but i made it worse as you can see in the picture, is something i can do to repair, cuz i know is not making contact, that's why my home button is not working property thanks

Can i solder it??

any chance of a photo or a better explanation of where you have damaged? is it the gold prongs on bottom of home button or on the dock connector. there are quite a few gold and silver things!

you should be able to buy just that top piece of flex on the dock connector. it can be found quite cheaply, in fact they sell it here either separately ( you need the dock flex, not antenna flex) or you can buy the entire dock connector if you think it's a bit too much hassle to fiddle about with little pieces.

I would also look at the underside of your home button and just check the 2 gold prongs that make connection to dock flex aren't flattened. it is more likely these that were the problem in the first place than the connector you removed
