Why is my iPhone screen black? Logicboard

So I've tried replacing the screen on my iphone 5 a few times and while the operation itself is now a breeze, I'm no closer to a solution persay. Looking closely I can see that there now are a few pins missing/broken off on one of the connectors, which is entirely my fault. Now, I will assume that's the reason for it not working. The last screen before this didn't work either. The iphone is recognized on my laptop in itunes and I can hear voice over off/on . It's just the display that's unresponsive. Still, my simcard isn't recognized anymore (it did previously). Now, if I replace the logic board both of these issues could clear up yes?

When I insert my simcard (it works fine in my iphone 6) it says in itunes :

There's no valid simcard in the iphone you're trying to activate. Or something like that.

For what you say I would say that the issue comes from the logicboard because there is more than one system that is failing: LCD and Sim Card.

Do you have any spare iPhone 5 where you can test the simcard/LCD? - That would be a good start; but for what you say, my first thought is: logicboard.

Let us know how it goes!

P.S: logicboards are not cheap, I've seen some for under $100.00

Oh, I know that already. Say, apart from ifixit's part store, do you know of any online shop selling iphone 5 logicboards? (I recently got a picture instead of just a black screen that lasted for roughly...5 seconds?, on it, but..I tried rubbing some alcohol on it (the disinfectant kind). Maybe I should do that again...

I have also seen those pin connectors cheap, but I have no confidence in my soldering skills and I've never done it before. Seems to me that it's a better way to replace the logic board rather than to mess up something as small as those connectors. I mean, all I have to do is go on to youtube and find some walkthrough of the process.

And, no. I only have one iPhone 5 and one iPhone 6. Previous owner of the iPhone 5 did say it had fallen into a glass of beer/liquid, so...still, when I replaced the screen for the first time (I've bought more than one screen by now) I had no problem with audio, video/picture etc, just...flickering ghost horizontal lines.

I was a complete moron. All I had to do was turn off the sim pin. Now. The screen issue is almost fixed. Except for parts of the screen is darker. Particularly in the top right. Any ideas? No, it's probably not an OEM part but..
