ear speaker not working after replacement

hi guys, im having real difficulty fixing this iphone 5C, the ear speaker isnt working so naturally i thought speaker stuffed with dirt and replaced it. this didnt fix the issue. then i replaced the flex cable underneath the speaker. still not working. then i made sure the contacts were clean and touching eachother perfectly. still no noise from the speaker. can anyone help me please? is it logic board related? a very strange issue which i have exhausted all repair scenarios. thank you guys so much in advance :)

Hello Ryan,

A coupe of things. In my experience I've found mic and speaker issues to be either a software issue or dirt and debris in the mic or speaker ports (the grill in the screen). You should be able to see light through it. Outside of that you have done most everything you can do. Recheck the camera flex connection to the board, one hair can cause a problem

Hi Ryan,

Did you use a new front camera flex? If so, you should try using the cable from another iPhone 5C, and make sure the proximity sensor isn't getting caught up underneath. Then of course, restart the device.

There are issues that can occur on the logic board, but they are very rare, at least from what I have encountered.

hi guys, grill is brand new so no dirt obstructing the passage of sound, yep replaced the camera flex and speaker unit but still no sound. beginning to think it maybbe software related, although that seems strange.. Thanks again

i'm having the same problem with the ear speaker not working after screen replacement on my wife's 5c. I actually swapped out camera/speaker and flex cables from another 5C that i knew worked and it still wouldn't work. Right now my wife just has to use her speakerphone all the time. Any more ideas on what to do here? When you say software problem, what can be done here? I read on another site where it might work after wiping the phone and restoring. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you ALL!!!
