LM270WQ1 (SD) (B3) Controller board

I have troubleshooted this display and pinpointed the part pictured as the problem, I've confirmed it by replacing with a known good part and it restores the display to working however I am struggling to find a replacement part, where can I pick up a Controller board? does anyone have one spare even a faulty display with scratches, cracks or marks would do as this is a seperete piece

or alternatively is there a component on these that is prone to going I could replace?

Update (09/22/2016)

So I repaired today and all is working well, it's not difficult, out with the old and in with the new, probably the most awkward part is getting the LG panel off the housing, be very careful not to pull on the connected cables or you run the risk of pulling of the surface mounted connectors

Block Image

So the back of the panel the area you are working on is at the top underneath that raised metal cover, there's lots of silver tape and black tape here and no matter how careful you are you will tear it (I did anyhow!)

Block Image

There's only 4 screws holding this on, one of which is covered by black tape

Block Image

Fold the cover away from you and let it stand up, the board is now held in place by the 2 conectors at the top with zif connectors, the LVDS cable and the 2 push out connectors, take care taking these out, the board should just lift away when these have been removed

Block Image

Part number to check which revision you have to order the replacement part

Block Image

Old at the top, replacement part below

Assemble in reverse order then you should be back working again

Any questions please ask and I will do my best to help :)

Regards

I am finding nothing on this part number. Can you give a link?

It tried another number on the board (lm270wq1) and got results:

That looks like it's the same board but a different revision, not sure on compatability, it's an LG part number and I found nothing myself bar a few images, certainly if you search for the panel p/n there is plenty of hit's but nothing in stock anywhere!

I got the number I used off your picture. Here's where to get a NEW part for $55.00 using the new number you postedhttp://www.aliexpress.com/item/LM270WQ1-...

So i've ordered a replacement part from AE, i'll post back when it arrives and report on results, I already know it's the board that's at fault but i'll post some pics for the benefit of other user's

Cheers Mayer :)

I am confused. What was the problem you were having to conclude the board was the problem? I am having issues right now with my LCD screen(goes black randomly and don't want to come back) FaceTime camera working well, speakers too so is the LCD. No connectors were loose and I am getting picture on the display cause I can see it with a flashlight so definitively is a backlight problem, my question is what does this board do to see is something I should test before ordering a new LCD.

Or could be the power supply

This display is also in the iMac 2011 27” A1312. The problem is ‘black screen’. I can get it to work by running MacFanControl and setting the temp to not come above 30 C and setting the brightness at its lowest. My suspicion is this board is bad. Any info on that ?

Thanks!

P.S inverter board and GPU have all been replaced.

I would start taking some voltage measurements to pin point the cause.
