Replaced iPad battery. Works but crashes repeatedly while plugged in.
I've seen a few variations of this related to the battery being dead but my battery is actually OK.
Our old iPad2 was dropped and stopped responding/went into a boot loop when plugged in. I found heat-related damage on the battery connector. It looked like something shorted at the connector (maybe across the case?). There was some damage on the board connector as well.
Replaced the battery and digitizer while I was at it. The iFixIt kit and this web site were a great help. Now it seems to work fine on battery power but when plugged in it reboots after a few minutes. It charges VERY slowly and does not appear to charge during the times when it is fully on. 20 hours to go from 8% to 68%.
Note that I have not sealed everything back up yet if that matters.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Mike
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

A quick follow-up: I found this evening that if I properly turn the iPad off, it seems to charge normally. I'll have to confirm it also stops charging normally at (I assume) 4.2V.
