Why won't it turn on after resetting the circuit breaker

If the circuit breaker tripped then something must have caused it to do so. Circuit breakers usually only trip if there is an excessive amount of current flowing through them. More current than what they are rated to handle.

Given that the circuit breaker can be reset, it indicates that the reason for it tripping has been removed, most likely components, in the power supply path of the washer, have been destroyed by the excessive electric current (caused by some fault as yet to be determined) before the breaker tripped.

My initial thought is that something in the control board of the washer (or what the control board handles) has failed and in failing has tripped the breaker and most probably affected the board as well.

The door lock assembly on a front-load washer includes a safety switch that detects whether the washer door is closed, a latch and a locking mechanism. If any of these components fails when the door is open, the door won't lock; if a component fails with the door is closed, the door won't open. Replace the entire assembly if any component fails.

You may need to start, by gaining access to the control panel to see if there is any obvious damage to the control board and progress on from there, after you have disconnected the power, of course.
