My phone died and now wont charge or turn on?

My phone just died and when i plugged it in it popped up with the charging symbol but then the symbol disappeared. I took the battery out and then put it back in, when that without my phone plugged in with the charger it buzzes > pops up with samsung symbol > then turns black. when i do it with the charger plugged in it buzzes with charging then turns black.

it did this a few weeks ago and kept doing it for a few days, then i quit trying. a week and a half later my dad plugged it in and it started charging. i dont want to wait that long again and dont know what to do...
