iPhone 6S wifi module overheating really fast after a drop.

iPhone 6s took a nasty spill and when powered back on, it would instantly overheat and it wouldn't allow use. I have disassembled it and removed logic board for testing. When I plug it in with the battery, lcd, and cable attached to the logic board it will boot up but shortly and wifi is greyed out, it will begin to overheat until i disconnect the battery. The wifi module is the main source of the heat getting up over 150 degrees. I tried to reflow the module for about a minute at 350 twice now and still no luck. Im almost certain there is a short somewhere and Im hoping someone could steer me in the right direction to help me catch this sucker. Is it possible that the wifi module was damaged and that would cause the overheating? Thanks in advance!

Are you out of Apple warranty? They should be able to get you a replacement. https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

i had the same issue with my 6s..it was completely fine on a monday night(sms and lte wise-i had this problem with my phone that doesn’t connect to wifi even if the pw was correct and had the network settings undergo a reset)..the next thing i knew i have brought a total dead phone (won’t charge, won’t reset by any means, can’t be recognized over itunes)i had it check at a repair shop and was told that the batt needs to be replaced, it was. I have used it for the entire night (but was in fear bec the phone’s heating up mostly on the top portion somewhere beside the cam and the battery was draining so quickly.. i have fully charged it after getting home, switched it off since i don’t use my phone at home, put it back on just to check if it would open—it did, and switched it off again, the next day phone went dead AGAIN!i ahd it checked and was told that the unit has shortage and the cause is actually the WIFI IC heating up, and the only fox is to replace it..i haven’t got it replaced since it costs about $50-70..but will be very happy to get back to this thread once it’s fixed so i can share if that would solve it entirely..
