Why won't my 2ds slider not produce sound

Hi I'm asking if someone can help me. My Nintendo 2ds volume slider is loose and only produces a loud sound if it is all the way at the bottom. I have just recently got this 2ds from target. I noticed this problem while playing super smash brothers trying to adjust the volume as I was playing and the slider slid to the bottom of the volume adjuster. I really need help
