frozen and stuck in voiceover and will not unfreeze.

My kindle fire is frozen and Ihave tried the power button to reboot and held power button down with volume button on at same time nothing happens. I have also taken this to gadget guy called amazon help and taken to geek in a store but no one can help. The voice over reads "do you want to shut down? cancel shutdown " and that is all it will do.
