Can you change the battery?

yes anything that has a battery can have the battery changed. if the battery is not the type that you can just take off externally ( like a lot of apple products in your case i am assuming that you have a mac since it is in your title) you have to actually open up the device and find the battery in order to replace it with a similar battery. be careful though because with a lot of devices as soon as you open them the warranty is void. if you do not car about the warranty or you no longer have one then all you have to do is find out what type of battery your mac takes either by looking it up online or actually opening it( last resort). ordering the tools to be able to take it apart would also be very useful. if you are not very good with electronics then get a professional to do it but ordering the battery would cut down on the cost in theory. if you have insurance then send it back to apple to have them do it.
