Does it work?
Does the orange charge-indicator light come on?
What does the fine-print on the power adapter say?
Many (but NOT all) modern small power-blocks are "100V-250V".... they eat any wall-voltage in the world.
Owner's Manual is here (Nintendo company site; 4MB PDF). It does say "120 volt".

Unfortunately, Nintendo's power adapters (at least for the Wii and DSi) are *not* universal-voltage-compatible.
thanks for your responses.. haven't got it at the moment, but as I recall the middle
light comes on, but that's all (it's on it's way back from 'repair'
since nintendo aust say they are not 'licensed' to fix it as it is american.. about
5v)... it was definitely overloaded and we have the proper adaptor now but I need to know if
and where or how it can be repaired... I imagine some part(s) are burnt out/fried and hope
they can be replaced... any ideas please? cheers, tina

well i would say find anyone with an electrical meter and have them check for the correct voltage coming out to the power converter frist. On an overload that ought to blow first one would hope and that would be an easy fix.
