After I got repair person to replace antenna Flex cable I have noticed my audio quality has degraded. If I use one of my expensive audiophile earphones or less obvious listen loud through the speaker, the audio has become less clear and somewhat muffled sounding.

It's like audio has gone from 320k to 64k output. I have done some comparisons against another i6 and iPad Air with different earphones.

Anyone else notice this ?

I'm wondering if it's low quality flex cable or connection causing this ?

Or could it be unrelated issue coming from docking flex ? A reseat of it required to rule out loose connections ?

No idea why that would be... my audio sounds fine (music, podcasts, etc.). I'd say it would have something having to do with the speaker grill being covered, but the earphone issue remains. Strange.

Does it happen on local media or just streaming media? If it happens with local media, I don't think it could be the flex cable... but it wouldn't hurt to reseat it, just in case.

Thanks for taking your time to respond. It tells me that directly changing the flex cable should have not caused the problem. Was your cable genuine original or just standard cheap model from eBay ?

Unfortunately my audio problem is playing all audio from both speaker (less apparent) and headphones.

I have now ordered a 100% used genuine flex cable that is removed from an iPhone 6 and will swap this out. If it works than great otherwise I think I will need to assume issues is in the docking flex area and possibly try attempt to reseat it.

I have read replacing the docking flex can cause nightmares of additional problems. If reseating doesn't help than I guess I will live with the problem until iPhone 8.

If I understand well someone else made the repair for you? Maybe he made something wrong elsewhere during the process.

I bought the F cable et Wifi module from Amazon for the record.

And the vendor is BisLink.

And did you try to reset all your setting, or backup the phone and install first a clean OS version to check that it is not a software issue?

Yes someone else did the repairs. Thanks for confirming your experience has not caused any degrading to audio quality. I have now bought a 100% genuine used iPhone flex cable that has been taken out of an iPhone 6. It has a part/ID no. written on it that is almost same as my original.

I have not done a full settings reset or a restore as the phone is Jail broken and I don't want to lose this. I'm currently looking for a capable repair prson and the way things are going I will end up having a go myself. I also want to try to get the docking flex reseated in case their is a bad connection their.

Sure, no issues on the audio side.
