Extremely dim screen after screen replacement

I replaced the Digitizer on my iPhone 6 with the iFixit iPhone 6 LCD Screen and Digitizer kit. I powered on after completing the repair, at first I thought the phone was dead and then I realized the screen was just extremely dim. If I Shine a flashlight on the screen I can see most things. Did I do something wrong during the repair? Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, you more than likely burned out the back light fuse on the motherboard of the iPhone. Did you disconnect the battery during repair? If not, that can cause this to happen pretty easily. It's common in the iPad mini as well. There are several reputable board level repair companies on eBay. I've used a company out of NY that has fixed many devices for me for a great price.

Thanks Brian! I did disconnect the battery before touching the other connections. Is there a way to check that fuse?

I'd Google the placement of the fuse. Im not exactly sure where it is. If you can locate it and it looks burnt or discolored, then that's the issue. Maybe hook up your old busted display, if it still works, just to check. It's not totally uncommon for the back light on the display itself to be bad. I have seen that as well in replacement parts from time to time.

What if it’s bright when turning on with the Apple logo but when it’s on completely it’s dim and the brightness slider doesn’t do anything?
