I dont know why iBook is not charging?!

No power after charger is unplugged. It only runs off the Battery.

That is about it I am not sure why it did that. I replaced the hard drive in here a while ago. Everything works but not that. It says battery not charging and then sometimes it says it has so long until it is done charging.

Newer battery after market charger. It says sometimes it is charging and the it never charges.

Let me know if there is any more information.

There are 2 reasons for this:

1. When you opened up the iBook, you needed to disconnect the dc-board (it's the board with the hole for the charger). Is it properly seated? Try disconnecting it again and pushing it in with a spudger or flathead screwdriver.

2. The dc-in board is fried. Your best bet is to get another dc-in board. You might be able to use an iBook G3 dc-in in your G4 because they are interchangeable and cheaper.

thank you I will try that. Seems to be the problem. I had to replace the hard drive it was fried after a casual trip to iraq it was working then. Ah good times. NOT. anyway i guess I didnt put it back right.

G3 not interchange with g4! Check the part number on the bottom of the dc in board.
