Well Clara the first thing that I would do is to reset the iPhone. To do that, hold both the sleep/wake and Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds. Is your phone still fully functional? is it recognized under iTunes? If so, and if restarting makes no difference, I would open up my phone to make sure all cables are still connected. The cable may have gotten knocked of the connector. If all of that checks out you might be looking toward a screen replacement. Use the instructions on here iPhone 3G Display ersetzen you will get it accomplished. Just my 2cents and good luck to you.

The first cable might be loose. This connects the LCD. I would first recommend reseating this cable, and it might work. If not, then you would definitely need to replace the LCD in order to have a working iPhone again.

I don't want to nitpick but you've written what old turkey wrote. If you agree with advice upvote and then comment you agree. Otherwise answers is getting clogged up! If you disagree with advice you can always put why as a comment too. Positive, and negative feedback can help all of us.... I've had some too, hopefully I learned something
