Damage external & internal but not sure if the phone is done for

Hello my name is Jay, I've had this iPhone 5s for about 3 years now of all things I failed to back up the phone frequently. Recently I had an accident where the phone was caught into the door of my vehicle but wasn't completely closed up. It still charges with no problem but the screen is completely shattered. Also there is a slight bend and as of now I'm not sure of the internal damage. So one of my questions are can the internal memory be recovered if that was the case?

Also, when charging the iPhone it doesn't show up as a plugin device or USB connected . Yet, it does make the alert sound on my computer and also the vibration signal to notify that its charging. I went to a near by shop and was told everything looks good but they are not sure if the main internal memory disc or card is damage due to the slight bend on the phone . What would you suggest I do about this situation? I would like to have the screen replaced but I want to know if the phone will even be functional again. I do get alarm alerts but can't access anything even if the iPhone was to connect to a computer cause its password locked and screen is useless.
