can i use Samsung 850 Pro & 850 Evo same size storage to do RAID 0 ?? both SSDs same size storage ..same brand..just different model..need your feedback and advice please???

i know how to RAID 0..did it before ...i just wanna know if i can do it again ..same brand..same size storage...1tb for 850 evo + 1tb 850 pro...is it okay and possible to do it? and it wont do any harm on my macbook or system??

You can't add a second drive in the retina models so I'm not sure how you are planning to do this.

The newer Apple systems use a custom blade SSD (similar to M.2 but that the same).

Review this: OWC Data Doubler. Read the notes very carefully! It makes no difference who's Optical drive carrier you use as the issue is within the Mac system its self.

You will have issues with most SSD's on the market today running in the optical drive SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) models.

You should be able to do raid 0.

The only caveat here is the speed will be only as fast as the slowest drive.

You also need to worry about mis-writes if the data still in queue has not finished writing if your system crashes. The issue is what is when the runout buffer which is held in RAM gets lost. You do have some wiggle room but its best to have as close a match as you can between your drives to reduce the queued writes in the runout buffer just in case.
