It won't charge or turn on

I changed motherboards and i have tried this one in 2 different consoles and it won't boot up. If you connect the charger it will give the orange light 5s and it will turn off. If you turn it on it gives blue light 5s and then it turns off and does the pop sound. I checked all zif cables/connectors and exchanged batteries. The other motherboard works on both consoles.

It is battery problem of ur 3ds xl

von

I have tested other batteries and still won't charge/turn on.

Recently I had a problem with my 3ds xl, but it is the first model of it, so I'm not sure if it can be fixed. I stopped using it for a while, and when I got back to it, it wouldn't turn on and I tried charging it, but it wouldn't show a orange light.

Check your fuses, diodes; power circuitry. The fuses (in red) should have continuity, the diode (in blue) when tested with multimeter: red lead on output and black lead on input should be OL; reversing the leads should give 0.165V (Diode test mode). Also check the resistor values, and inspect the solder joints.

The fuse for the battery power is located on the action buttons board (in red).

You could also try refering to this post on GBA for additional help/info: GBATEMP Apparently replacing the daugtherboard fixed the issue in that case.

Both Fuses have continuity, my Diode is Bad, but every single Resistor is showing OL, did every single resistor die? Also the charge IC is assumed dead too?

Does anyone know what I can replace the Blue diode with? I have 2 boards now with the same blown diode, I think it's labeled "C1" not sure though.

If you have the blue light and pop sound and you've checked and double-checked the ribbon cables and connectors then it's likely that one of the ribbon cables has a tear in it at the hinge. It could also be a connection in the upper portion of the console.

Hope this helps.

Is it normal that i't wont charge ? Isn't like a fuse/energy related problem ?

von

Is the battery fully charged? If it is then there is nothing to charge. The blue light and popping would likely be a separate issue from any charging issues unless there's been liquid damage or something.

von

No liquid damage, but I connect the same motherboard on other console and it has the same problem.

von

So it shows the orange light for 5 seconds then goes out and it shows the blue light and pops when you try to turn it on?

von

It shows the orange light and turns off if it's connected. If not just the bluelight and then pops and turns off. Yes, that's what happens.

For the new generation, check the ziff connector to the back light of the lower lcd. These can get loose. Also check which displays flashes when the pop sound is heard. This can be an indicator on which cable is the problem. The older generation is usually the 3d cable that had the slight tear near the hinge

Hello, I have a "New" 3DS XL with a blown diode near what I believe is the charging chip right next to the charging port. I don't get a charging light but I do get about 5 seconds of Blue light on when I press the power button with only the side button board plugged in and nothing else, no change when I plug in the charger. The diode gives readings in both directions which is why I believe it's blown, also I know I placed the battery in backwards when testing before putting it all back together. Fuses are good. Does anyone have any experience working with Nintendo 3DS systems? I bought a donor board and it also has the same blown diode. I think the Diode reads "C1" but I am not sure what I can replace it with. I really need someone to pull a known good one and measure it if that's possible with diodes.
