Why am I smelling fumes through my heater/defrost?
When first starting up my car, after it has been sitting all night, i turn on the heater and can smell gas fumes.

I'm going to assume exhaust fumes, not straight up gasoline?
You might have an exhaust leak somewhere and it's drawing in those fumes along with regular air. If it's a straight up gasoline smell then you have a potential fire hazard on your hands.

Do you have any more details? Can you smell gas outside the car? Does the smell go away after running for a bit? Has engine performance suffered at all???
