Why won't my keyboard work?
I just turned my computer on and the keyboard has completely stopped working. Please help me fix it!

Check to see if the caps lock/num lock lights are on or come on when the lock buttons are pressed. If not check to make sure that the USB cord is fully inserted (remove and reinstall). Also if it is plugged into a multi-port hub or another device instead of directly into your computer make sure that those have their USB/power cords plugged in as well.

@troymac1ure how would any of this affect the keyboard on a laptop?
I missed that it was a laptop. Disregard suggestions for unplugging. A soft reboot would be a good starting place instead or if that fails to help try a hard reboot by powering down and pulling the battery for 60 seconds.

You can also try rebooting the computer . on occasion the boot goes wrong and you may need to do it again
