Screen issue, turns blank after pressing power button.

Hi,

I am facing an issue with my device, wherein, whenever I lock the screen, it turns black. I then have to press power button and somehow switch off the phone . The phone works as usual after boot but, the moment the screen is locked, same thing happens again. Is it a software issue or screen is damaged?

Please help.
