iPhone screen black, battery won't drain

Hi guys,

I'm desperate. My iPhone 4s went black screen 3 days ago and it won't turn off. I hear notifications from apps, I hear e-mails. Once the same thing happened to me but I just waited for battery to drain and recharged it again.

Now that doesn't work because battery WON'T DRAIN. And my lock button doesn't work btw.

I tried putting it in the freezer for more that an hour - the phone is still ON, I heard notifications from the freezer.

So I connected on iTunes to check how much battery I had and still have 4% for more than a day. The only last thing to try is to erase iPhone from iCloud.

I don't want to do that, I haven't backed up anything on my phone.

Anyone with similar experience?

It sounds like your lcd went out (very common), if so it would need to be replaced. Which can be done by you, that being said please read the guide here on ifixit because it is a little harder to do than the more recent iPhones due to the fact you must take off numerous parts, still very doable

Side notes

-Your battery is lasting so long because your lcd being on is 70%-90% of your battery drain.

- As soon as you connect your phone to your pc it starts charging it.

- lastly although I don't think this will solve your original issue unfortunetly, but If you hold the power and home buttons down at the same time for about 10 seconds it will force it to shut off .
