What MHz can my MacBook Pro use for DDR3L RAM?

I currently have a:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

I've been thinking of changing the RAM to a DDR3L 2*8 GB 1600MHz but I noticed there are also different MHz's (1600, 1866, 2133).

Will there be a difference in speed, battery, etc?? If so which is recommended?

Thanks so much!

DDR3L RAM runs at what the systems voltage is (1.5V or 1.35V). So in older 1.5V systems is will run at that voltage.

As far as clocking (MHz) you can use a higher clocked RAM module but I wouldn't go higher than one level higher.

Keep in mind it won't offer any real performance difference or alter your run time on battery.
