I think that the iPod Classic firmware looks better than the iPod Video Firmware (even the custom ones) so could I fit an iPod Classic Logic Board into a Video (5.5G by the way)?

Thanks for telling me! The motherboards actually look very similar though. I'm talking about 820-1975-A and 820-2168-A.
Yes they do look similar but they are not interchangeable and will not fit. Number one give away are the two screws that hold the logic board to the midframe on the Classic that the Video does not have. Number two the LCD is different and the connectors are not the same. Tried and failed myself.
Oh well, might need new connectors, new LCD, and possibly a new motherboard frame. Thanks for helping out!
You,ll need a new case since the clickwheel will not work, the LCD will not fit the case etc. You need a Classic case for the Classic logicboard. You cannot convert a 5.5gen into a 6th gen
