Headphone Jack trough lightning port
Hello you Guys
I work at repair shop in belgium and i have A strange problem that i accure ,
Today A client came in our store and asks me about a problem with audio lightning earbuds, when he plugs it in the phone it just keeps playing the sound trough speaker.
I gave him a new one and it worked ,
Now i was trying to use it with my phone and it did not work either i tried the one on reserves also the same problem...
I tried the originals at home and also did not work anymore, but when i put them in an iphone 5 its working fine...
I try to remove the dust inside,
Reset settings
Updates ios to 11.1.x and still not working..
I plug it to charge and all works fine..
Now i am the one that feels pretty desperated since my client came in our store
Does anyone know what i can do , before replacing my dock connector..
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Yes i understand,
But the problem is also with my phone
I did all above as you described,
Few weeks ago i used my lighting port headphones not my bluetooth ones,
It worked all fine,
But since today a client came in my store and says he has problem with the earbuds i was also testing it with my phone and it has the same problem...
I tested the samen lighting earbuds on an old device (iphonee 5s) and on that phone they work properly..
Is there a slight chance that there is moisture on the lighting connector??
Since its hard to check with just a loop and a lamp
Thanks for the fast answer

This is quite interesting. So you have ear pods that were from a client and they do not work. When you plug in another set of ear pods it causes that set to not work as well. Now you're left with a device that no longer can use ear pods.
When you have the ear pods no plugged in. When you test the volume keys do they show speaker volume (this will require you having some kind of music playing). Then when you plug in the ear pods do they show the headphones volume?
When you look at the connector of the ear pod did you notice anything off with it? Damage, bent, wrinkled sleeve on the cable, etc.

I probally describe it bad.. sorry for my english
So a client came in our store with an iphone 7
He has earbuds with lightning port not the wireless ones, some earbuds do not work with his phone ,gave him a new one and they worked for him..
Now i was testing it on my iphone 7 and they did not work either so i taught it was damaged i had my own earbuds that i used to use and they also do not work anymore...
I try them on an old iphone, an iphone 5s and all of them work on that phone...
is this a software problem or is it coincedence that my and my client iphone 7 charging port is broken.. since i had no problems in the past (3weeks ago)
Sorry for my broken english

If you want to test the software back up the unit, factory reset, and test. If it works, restore the unit and test again.
Regarding previous repair work. Did you repair/replace his charging port at some point or is it the original port? I'm under the assumption that this issue only happens with the ear buds and does not prevent the charger from working.
As for Earbuds, are they the original Apple Ear Buds w/ lightning connector? Apple does notate their products, including items from other vendors, with a stamp/logo of compatibility. It could also just be it's not a properly tested product w/ Apple.
