Why cant the unit find available wifi connections
brand new tablet will not search for available wi fi connections.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Check the WiFi router that you are trying to connect to.
It could be that the router is set to 5.4ghz, while the tablet can only use 2.4ghz.
If you do have 2.4ghz signals in the area, then you have a defective tablet.
I would suggest you take the tablet back to wherever it was purchased from if that is the case.

Hi,
Since it is a new tablet and hopefully you don't have any data to worry about if it were lost, try to reset the tablet.
It's worth a shot. If it doesn't work follow the advice given by @avanteguarde
You don't state the model number so here's a generic how to reset for Ematic tabs.
Locate the reset button next to the headphone jack on the side of the tablet. Insert a paperclip or another thin object into the hole. Press the reset button with the paperclip to reset the tablet. Touch "Factory Data Reset" to restore the tablet to its default state
OR
Perform factory restore from the Settings menu
