My girlfriend spilled some wine on the keyboard and (only) backlight stopped working. Where can I buy the inverter for Macbook A1342 Mid 2010 ?

Macbook Mid 2010 is an LED Backlight screen, it does not contain an inverter. 661-5588 is the Apple part # for the display. If there is a spill inside the machine chances are it could be a problem with the logic board instead of the display. If you connect the machine to an external monitor does it display out to it?

thanks for the info, I do not have the opportunity to try an external monitor somewhere ( a small village in Switzerland :-| , maybe I can try Interdiscount ) , everything works with a flashlight
not everything ... camera is not working
I have the same problem, all the symptoms are the same, with a flashlight I can see the screen and occasionally the screen comes on for anything up to an hour before going off. I bought an inverter only to find that it doesn't have one. Is it likely that a replacement LED Backlit screen will fix it or should I do a few more tests before ordering and if so which tests should I do???

Hey, I have the same problem... my backlight stopped working. I have the same Macbook Model A1342. If I connect it to an external monitor it works great,
