Samsung UN55D6050TFX, no power, no standby light.

I've got no power, and no standby light on my Samsung UN55D6050TXF.

Visual inspection of the main board and power supply board do not indicate any problems.

While plugged into power, if the main board is unplugged from the power supply board, the TV's backlight will turn on.

The button/control/IR board and main board have been replaced, no dice.

What's going on?

Hey @redtopsr20 did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am having the exact same issue with my TV and for the life of me I cannot figure which board I need to replace.

@redtopsr20 take a couple of pictures of all of your boards and post those with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen for that.

You did not tell us what you measured. Good to know that the backlight comes on without the main board but that will not help you. Check the fuses on the the power board as well as the T-con board. since you have no standby light it is most likely that this is your power board that has failed. Without the standby voltage, your TV will not do anything.

I have not measured standby voltage, I was under the assumption (from the many many forum posts that I've obsessively dug through) that if the backlight could be turned on by disconnecting the main board>PSU cable, that meant that your PSU was functioning properly.

To check the standby voltage, which pins do I measure?

I appreciate your time. What can I do to show my support? I am not familiar with this website.

It means that the power board supplies the voltage for the LED's but does it also supply the voltage to the main board etc.?

von

I understand.

Which pins do I check for standby voltage?

There are four diodes near JP14. This is your bridge rectifier. You may have a shorting diode there. If you can, take a small pair of wire snips and cut into a leg of a diode and measure . You can do this on the top of the board. If the diode is fine you can resolder and try another diode. Do not plug the TV at all for these measurements. Start there and let me know what you find. I want you to know, a good fuse in the power supply does not mean the power supply is working properly. Will visit later.

von

I've taken the four diodes near JP14 out of circuit and tested them accordingly. Voltage looked good, and they were all functioning properly. I added a photo to the question of the diodes that I tested.

Lets start with the Timing control board (T-con Board). Locate F 11. If you find this, measure with the continuity of a volt meter. If the volt meter has audible, the T-con is fine. If you don't have an audible on the volt meter, set the meter on diode. Test F 11. If it registers 0, the T-con is fine. Thanks for asking Matt of Martins TV Repair.

AKA as roundrock. Anyway start with that, let me know what happens.

I've located it, looks like a really small ceramic fuse, huh?

I'm not able to perform the test right now, I'll report back soon. Thank you very much for the direction.

von

I've tested F 11, it appears to be in working order.

*Edit: I've also checked the fuse on the PSU Board, it is good as well.

von

Yes...you found it!

ICM 807 is one to suspect on power supply.. On just one occasion this was problem a problem in another brand of TV. I'm trying to remember which two pins to measure.

I would certainly look at fuse on the T-con board. Location (at the end of one of the ribbons ) F11. 125v @ 3A.

Grab your ohm meter and set for continuity. If the fuse is good the meter will read 3 or less………even 0. If your meter has an audible it will chirp or ring……indicating good.

If there is no reading (meter will not show any number or resistance). No audible, fuse is open and T-con is bad.

Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV Repair.
