Many Whirlpool-made, Maytag washing machines come with a small LCD display to communicate messages from the internal computer to the user. In the event of an error, the display shows a two digit, alphanumeric code to help owners and technicians quickly identify the source of the problem. The "Sd" error code, sometimes mistaken for "5d" because of the limitations of the display, is relatively common and there are numerous solutions available.
The "Sd" Code
"Sd" or sometimes "Sud" appears when there is an excessive amount of soap bubbles in the drum. Suds prevent the washing machine properly spinning out water, which eventually leads to a stoppage in the cycle while the appliance adds more water to wash away the suds. The washer aborts the cycle, displays "Sd" and lights the "Cycle Complete" light if it is unable to clear the problem.
Cause: Incorrect Soap
Using the wrong type of detergent is a common cause of the "Sd" error code. Always use detergents labelled High Efficiency or HE in the amounts detailed on the back of the bottle for best results. Adding too much or using the wrong type of detergent confuses the washer's sensors and produces an error code.
Cause: Blocked Drain Hose
A blockage in the hose that channels water out of the washing may produce the "Sd" error code if the appliance is unable to remove water from the drum. Straighten out the hose as much as possible, making sure it empties into a utility sink or suitable drain pipe. If problems continue, disconnect the pipe and inspect it for blockages.
Cause: Error
Maytag acknowledges that error codes like "Sd" sometimes appear by mistake. Push the "Pause/Cancel" twice or "Power" button once to remove the code from the screen and try using the washer again. If the code returns, unplug the washer for 60 seconds and try the cycle again before calling for assistance.

Well the answer doesn't solve the problem. So you are wrong!!!!
Service guy said the problem is with the computer board Ordered one, installed it, and the problem still exists. He had said something about blowing out something related to a sensor Not sure what to do

The most relevant sensor mentioned in the parts list for the washer is the motor rotor position sensor (part #20 motor and basket parts). This is used to determine the direction and speed of the spinning rotor.
Looking at what the tech sheet for the washer shows for an Sd error code (see p.3), it may be a problem with the sensor detecting the correct spin rate of the motor and the control board thinks that it is because of a drag on the basket:
Sd is displayed when the machine/motor control, by analyzing drag on the basket, detects a suds-lock condition, and is steady on while the control then runs a mini clean out cycle. If the cleanout cycle is unable to correct the over-sudsing problem, the cycle ends and Sd flashes in the display. This may signify: Load is bunched, Excessive detergent usage, Mechanical friction on drive mechanism, not allowing motor to spin properly.
Try performing test #3 Motor circuit (see tech sheet p.4) as this tests the motor and rotor position sensor.
Do the manual motor spin test on p.2 as well.
It also mentions that it performs a mini cleanout cycle to try and clear the problem. Perhaps try running a Clean Washer cycle, (see p.11 of the user guide) and check if this does anything to fix the problem.
Hopefully a start.

After the wash cycle the water drains out totally then the drum just tick tocks back and forth at 19 seconds. It won't progress any further than that

I tried finding the filter via the back. Not there. Really don’t want to take the front off. I have a warranty but they thought it easier to just pay me for the washer & be done. What a crock. Not spending money on warranty again. Would love to have my washer running again.
