iPod does not boot past apple logo. Keeps switching to low battery.
This is an IPOD Video 5th Gen 30GB unit. When connected to a charger, the unit tries to boot and stays on the Apple logo for a long time before switching to the low battery screen. After a while at charging it goes to the apple logo. The display remains without backlight all through these sequences.
- Have replaced with 2 new batteries. Nothing changed. Eventually the batteries stopped working as in could not use them in another ipod.
- While charging, it draws about 0.3A.
- When connected to computer, it is not recognized by itunes as it has not completed the boot cycle.
- Tried setting to disk mode. It will go into disk mode but as soon as it is connected to the computer, it will switch to battery charging mode.
- Unable to get it into diagnostic mode.
- Have checked the LCD and Hard drive in a second working ipod. Both work fine.
- Have checked the connections and confirmed that they are secure.
- Unit does not heat up. Nothing unusual.
- Tried to charge and connect to computer with a variety of cables that I know are good for charging and syncing.
?? Could this be a problem with the charging circuit or with the display circuit or the hard drive circuit?
?? Are there any other possibles causes for these symptoms?
?? Does anyone have a suggestion on a test step I may have missed?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
