Cannot re-clone new SSD

Cloned new hard drive and installed it - then tried to update to High Sierra from Sierra - failed to update and now mac doesn't boot from new drive - tried old drive and that's fine albeit even slower than before hence upgrading in first place. Can't seem to erase and re-clone using super duper - super duper doesn't even give me the option of placing new drive in drop down copy window ??? Please help ???

You’ll need to create a USB Thumb drive installer. Follow this guide: How to create a bootable macOS High Sierra installer drive. Once you have re-formatted & re-installed the MacOS onto your drive, connect your old drive to your system using this: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter It will allow you to then Migrate your stuff over from the old drive either at the end of the OS install process or using Migrate Assistant.

I don’t use cloning software any more for this exact reason it has issues! Instead I focus on Migrate Assistant and use syncing apps.
