Why cant I upgrade the RAMs for MacBook7.1

i got two 2G ram but failed to upgrade to 4G but i couldn't . i was only able to reach 3G. one of the original rams has to be installed for it to work.

so i decided to try different ones after reading lots of forums on here , I got two 4G ram however it refuses to boot with them both. Only one of them with the original 1G ram.

I have tried all possible combinations and cant get more than 5G

Its very frustrating to read that some are able to get it to work. Any tips??

what am i missing, why does it need the original 1G ram.

What is your model looking it up from EveryMac? Post the systems URL so we can see what you've got from the link Mayor posted.
