Shorted out inverter cable...test connector vs logic board damage?
MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo Model A1150
Put the wrong back panel screw (fit but too long) during reassembly and shorted out the inverter cable. Smelt smoke upon startup, shut it down, removed screw, restarted. Now I have a very dim display and a stinky logic board (at respective connectors). I know I should replace the inverter cable, then inverter board, but if those fail, I've wasted >$75 and then have to move on to testing logic board connectors... can I try this step 1st? I have a bad feeling I've fried the connector, meaning I'm screwed. How do I test the connectors/logic board? Voltmeter at pins?
thanks a bunch!
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
