Try This. The power supply board would be my first to remove. Located under the two fans in center. Resolder the bottom of the power supply, or find someone to solder any and all bad grounds. Replace board. Next the chopper supply located just left of power supply. Do the same here, resolder any and all bad grounds. Replace. Start there and ask me more. Matt of Martins TV Repair.

Hi All

I have the same issue on a a TV set which is currently in our workshop. We worked through the flowchart and we get no OSD, no SC LED and no SS LED. 7 blinks on the main power LED and we can hear the solenoid on the AC board click and unclick after some seconds. SS board power supply is 15 V during this time and drops to 0 when the solenoid unklicks. Supply voltage on the SC board = 0V. Can somebody tell us what else to measure / test on the set?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you are trying to fix a plasma tv. These parts may no longer be available, the plasma TV were not made after 2013. As a rule when this TV goes down, you will need a minimum of three boards to purchase. Power supply, Y-Board and buffer board or boards (sometime there is one on each side of TV. Really......this set would cost more in repair than its worth. Even if you did get it up and running, it will not last 45days. I have not been a fan of Plasma repair...........they did have the best picture though. Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV.

The 7 blink code is a common issue with is with one, both, or all of SC board, SD board, and SU board. The most common failure is the SC board. after that it’s possibly an SU/SD board fault; possibly a loose board connector, or a mis-seated connector leading to the panel. First check for arcing evidence on the mounting screws for the SD board. Then do a preliminary check based on this

You also want to post lots of images of your boards and their location with your question. Use this guide Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen for that. That way we are having a common reference for further issues.

I will post some pictures, I did not see any clear arcing spot, but I will check again.

Can you tell me which cards are the SC, SD and SU cards? How to recognize them?

I found on ebay a guy selling repair kits for such TV... the P7N is TNPA 5351 SC, ever heard about?

von

@newbieintv once you post your pictures we can point everything out to you. I have heard of repair kits for commmon failures. Those do come in handy to repair boards and are often times way cheaper than a new board. Always make sure that the repair kit you purchase is a.for the right board and b. that it is the right board that needs repair.

von

pictures got posted, can you help me identifying which card is what?

Do you know where I can get the service or repair manual?

von

@newbieintv did you check the initial flowchart? What did you find?

von

Well, for teh flowchart:

- what means OSD?

- For teh SC, SS cards, I realized that the ports on the cards are specified SC51, SS2...., so I guess that the cards with the port SD1, SD2... is the SD card, and same for the other, having said that, I guess I found the SS and SC cards from the flow chart... so:

- Power is on (7 red blinking from front side LED is going on)

- No antenna nor external device (DVD...) connected

- No LED activated on SC nor SS card (I did not find the D16583 and D16254 but found teh D583 an D254 respectively on the SC and SS cards).

Do it helps you?

Sounds to me like you may have an issue with the control board. What you can do to troubleshoot is:

1) unplug television from power and unplug power cord from television (if removeable)

2) open the television

3)look for the control board (usually the board with all the ports and antenna connection)

4)disconnect the control board from the power supply board and all other connectors

5)plug the power cord into television and plug television into outlet

WARNING! DO NOT TOUCH ANY COMPONENTS INSIDE TV WHILE POWERED ON OR PLUGGED IN! POSSIBLILTY OF ELECTRIC SHOCK.

6)turn on television to check if the blinking lights still occur

If after the tv is still blinking then it might be an LCD issue.

This is an old TV. I would imagine this TV is plasma. You would need to replace three boards minimum to repair this. By now, there would be no parts for this set. Then at its best, you may get 3 months to watch . Time to find a new set. Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV.
